Rubislaw Achieves Clubmark Accreditation
Congratulations to all those who have been involved in helping Rubislaw achieve Clubmark accreditation. To celebrate there was an event held at the club on Saturday the 5th November. It was great to see so many members including juniors enjoying some fun games, great food including a BBQ & cake and the presentation of our Clubmark award from Kirsty McRae (Tennis Scotland). A great event was finished off with an excellent fireworks display. Thanks to all those who helped make the afternoon so successful.
Rubislaw Grand Prix
The second stage of the Rubislaw Grand Prix was held over the weekend 4 Nov - 6 Nov. In the mens event top seed Graeme Matthew (David Lloyd Aberdeen) was beaten in the semi final by Babak Alnasser 6-7 6-4 [6-10] . In the other mens semi final 2nd seed Martin Harbord set up an all Rubislaw final by crushing Rubislaw Club Coach Darren Nicol 6-1 6-0.
Congratulations to Martin who beat Babak 4-6 6-2 [10-4] in the final.
In the womens draw top seed Sheila Williams(Rubislaw) was beaten in the semi final by fellow Rubislaw player Laura Mulders 6-7 0-6. In the other semi final Fiona Hamilton (Rubislaw) beat Jane Watson(Stonehaven) 6-1 6-2.
Congratulations to Fiona who beat Laura 6-0 6-3 in the final.

Aegon Team Tennis 2011 - Scottish Champions
The Rubislaw mens team have come top of Division 1 of the Scottish section of the Aegon Team Tennis.They will now play off against the Scottish team who are currently in the National Tier of the competition to decide which team will progress to the GB playoffs in July 2012.

Club Annual General Meeting
The 2011 Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 26th October in the Clubhouse at 7:30pm. All members are invited to attend, refreshments will be served.
Finals Day 2011
This years final day was held on Saturday 27th August.

Aegon Team Tennis
The Rubislaw mens team will be competing in Division 1 of the Scottish section of this competition. After coming runners up last year they are hoping to go one better this season. For more information and to follow the results click here -
North East Open Winner
Congratulations to Bruce Strachan who is the new Stewart Milne Group North East Open mens singles champion. Bruce who didn't drop a set throughout the tournament, beat former winner Jimmy Wood jnr 6-2 6-3. Bruce made it a notable double by also winning the 18 & under singles with a 6-0 6-1 victory over David Paterson (Cults)
Club Tournament
The 2011 Annual Club Tournament will run from 23rd May with Finals Day being Saturday the 27th August.

NESLTA Confined Tennis Tournament
This years tournament took place at Rubislaw between the 13th and 18th June. There was an excellent number of entrants in all 4 categories, with some exciting matches being played during the week. Thanks to all those who took part and especially to those involved in organising the tournament.

Work has now started on the installation of the phone mast behind the courts. The mast itself will be dropped into place on Tuesday the 7th June and work will continue for a few weeks after to finish the installation. Please take care if any works are going on when at the club and be aware that some of the car park will be used by contractors.
The 2011 Season, Opening Day
It was very encouraging to see so many juniors and seniors come along. The Social Tennis was of a high standard and when not playing members were treated to burgers sausages from the BBQ. Darren organised some games which involved both junior and senior members which was thouroghly enjoyed by all who took part.
